May Term Course: "Art, Health and Society"

Taught by Professor David Feinberg and Visiting Professor Nicola Demonte. This class is a prerequisite for the new Artist-in Residence Program at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital tentatively scheduled to begin Fall 2012. The course is a pilot program that will apply to a future major/certificate in Art and Health. In the course, students will learn ways to apply the arts within the healthcare industry. Various artistic media are explored in relation to current topics in healthcare such as communication and artmaking, medical humanities, and the role of art in psychology, anthropology, education, and history. This class is open to undergraduate and graduate students and to the public at large. Students in all disciplines are welcome to enroll.

There are a limited number of slots open for the Artist-in-Residence Program so interested applicants are encouraged to apply for the May Term course at the U of M ASAP.
